Seriously though, BeamNG is much better-optimised these days, and the driving experience has come on leaps and bounds, so the photo mode was a pleasant surprise: featuring slider adjustments for aperture, background and foreground blur, the field of view and even the option to change the time of day. So, once you’ve ordered and installed a new CPU, graphics card and 16GB RAM, you’re good to go! BeamNG’s visuals have seriously improved since release There are quite a few options for adjusting your screenshots, and although the BeamNG.drive experience isn’t always a user-friendly one, it’s fairly self-explanatory to enter photo mode… once you’ve figured out how to record and play a replay… and err, figured out the replay button mapping… and your other controller settings… once you’ve unplugged your PS4 gamepad so it doesn’t interfere with your wheel and pedals… then realised BeamNG is pretty resource-intensive so you need to tweak those graphics settings a few times… Petter Solberg’s Citroen DS3 RX taking the kind of line that reduces tyre wear massivelyīeamNG.drive has a photo mode? Why yes it does! I was surprised too and was even more surprised when I discovered that it’s quite an effective little tool to help you get some decent crash-tastic pics. The accessible, bombastic, ramp DIRT 5, however, does implement a fully-featured photo mode that apes the F1 2021 implementation, so that gives us hope for any future sim-focussed releases from the racing game company. It’s a spectacular omission by developer Codemasters, and it’s not going to change in future updates, as DR2 has reached the end of its development cycle. The game looks great, but you simply don’t have the freedom to choose your camera positioning or the style of shot you want to take. Yes, you can’t save a replay in DiRT Rally 2.0! It seems incredible, doesn’t it, even more so when you consider fans of the series begged for a fully fleshed-out replay and photo mode after the release of the original in 2015.Įssentially, you’re reduced to watching the replay of your epic run through the Welsh forests manually switching camera angles hoping you get a great angle of your spectacular barrel roll. Sure, there are replays, but you only get to see these once the stage/rallycross race is finished – then it disappears forever. Isn’t it such a shame that the game doesn’t feature a proper photo mode then? In DiRT Rally 2.0, your photo ops are limited to the camera angles the game wants to give you The visuals also do a tremendous job of making you feel ‘in the moment’. The sound of the cars is incredible, and the VR mode gives it that extra layer of believability. It provides mud-tastic visceral thrills, and buckets of immersion (presumably mud buckets). yep, I am unable to buy Steam Deck (or anything similar), but I'm planning to buy one in future.DiRT Rally 2.0 (DR2) is an excellent rally and rallycross experience. Would you be interested in something like this? Multiplayer support would be awesome too! Of course it should be a premium paid game with controller support, just like Grid Autosport. Colin McRae Dirt 2 (love it!), Dirt 3, Dirt 4, even Rirt Rally 1 would run and feel awesome on mobile! IMO. I would love to pay for almost any Codemasters rally game. Launching any rally game on EGO engine to mobile would be awesome! There are just no competitors of this size on mobile! Rush Rally is ok, but it doesn't feel that great, Car X Rally is drowning in bad monetization and some nasty bugs. (They answered in a bit unclear and uncertain way though (yeeah, we are developing a lot of games and ports, subscribe to our Facebook page and etc.) The did a really good job with porting Codemasters EGO Engine to mobile. I reached Saber Interactive (they ported Grid to Android and IOS) and asked them about it. Man, have you heard Wreckfest is coming to mobile? I cannot wait to check it out!Īll these games are great, but I wish I could play at least one rally game from Codemasters on my Android phone too! Grid Autosport is simply awesome (except for the career structure), running at 60 fps on mid-to-high graphic settings. Rush Rally 3.0 is quite fun, WRC games from Evolution Studios (creators of all-mighty Motorstorm series) run and feel really good on mobile. I have discovered some really cool rally games - both for Android and for PS2. I really like to play on my smartphone using a controllerĭue to some really awful life circumstances, I am unable to just go to my PC and launch Dirt Rally 2.0/Dirt 2-3-4 and all my other beloved rally/racing games :(įor the last 7 months I play only on my phone. All Fanatec gangstaz and sim rally bosses - hold up!
